The site is bounded by farmland to the north, east and west and State Highway 27 to the south. The site is owned by Searcy County Industrial Development Corporation. The county seat of Marshall has a major north-south U.S. highway, U.S. 65. and is approximately 80 miles from Branson, Missouri, approximately 100 miles from Arkansas’ state capital in Little Rock, and is about a three-hour drive to Walmart Headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. The Searcy County Airport in Marshall (4A5) is a Level 2 general aviation airport regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics for the benefit of the flying public. The airport has a Precision Approach Path Indicator, (PAPI) and features a 4003′ x 75′ lighted (MIRL) runway, runway strength 12,500 SW, rotating beacon, 120′ x 150′ hangar, 18′ side walls, 60′ stack doors, 8′ loading dock, and a large paved apron. In CNBC’s “America’s Top States For Business 2012,” Arkansas ranked 2nd in the nation in “Cost of Doing Business” and 5th in the nation in “Cost of Living.” Arkansas is also a right-to-work state with low land prices and low property taxes. Did you know that our state government is prohibited by law from deficit spending? In addition, in Education Week’s state-by-state grades and data in six areas of educational policy and performance, Arkansas was the fifth highest scoring state in the nation only behind Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Virginia. When thinking about a future source of employees, the local high school in Marshall was listed as a Bronze School by U.S. News and World Report in 2013. In 2012 Marshall High School received the title of "Exemplary", one of only two high schools in the state to receive that designation as a result of consistently high test scores on our end of course exams. North Central Career Center in Leslie is a secondary school vocational center that offers several training areas for high school students.
